Is saying "the weather is gloomy and awful" considered cursing the wind or the weather, or is it merely a description? Does it fall under disbelief (kufr) or polytheism (shirk), and what are the consequences if it is? Is describing certain foods as "not food, but rather nonsense and empty talk" considered ingratitude for blessings? What is the ruling on unintentional words and actions, and what is the ruling on dispraising or cursing food unintentionally? What is the ruling on replacing salutations upon the Prophet with "Subhanallah" (Glory be to Allah) or saying "may this heat be cursed" in the context of slips of the tongue, especially with the presence of obsessive thoughts (waswasah)?

Describing a situation is not considered cursing the wind or time, and it is permissible and does not lead to disbelief, especially for someone afflicted by waswas (definition) (obsessive whispering). Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Al ash-Sheikh, Sheikh Ibn Uthaymin, and Sheikh Salih Al ash-Sheikh all permit describing time as difficult or easy, purely as a statement of fact, citing Quranic verses and Prophetic hadiths as evidence. Cursing time is divided into three categories:

1. Pure statement of fact: Permissible.

2. Believing that time is the active agent: Major shirk (definition) (polytheism).

3. Cursing time because it is the locus of a disliked event, while believing that Allah is the active agent: Forbidden.

As for disparaging food, it is contrary to the Sunnah (definition), but it does not lead to disbelief. Describing money as bad is permissible. Statements and actions made unintentionally are not held against a person, as Allah Almighty says: "And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred, but [only for] what your hearts intended." It is advisable to turn away from waswas and occupy one's time with what is beneficial.
