What is the ruling regarding a girl who refers to herself as "a devil like the angels" and describes herself in her bio as "the devout ascetic, extremist in disbelief..! The rebellious fearful one..! The lost map bearer..! I am the master and I am the slave! ..The vile city," knowing that Muslim men and women follow her and interact with her normally?

Naming oneself with such a name is among the reprehensible acts. Ibn al-Qayyim and Bakr Abu Zayd mentioned that naming with the names of devils is forbidden, and the Sunnah has commanded changing the name of anyone who was so named.

Even more reprehensible is for a person to describe himself as: "the extremist in disbelief." Scholars have explicitly stated that attributing oneself to disbelief is a clear act of apostasy.

A person must choose carefully whom he follows and befriends, and avoid bad company and the companionship of the deviant.
