What is the ruling on pausing during Quran recitation in places where there are no stop signs, and without repeating a word or two backwards?

There is no stop in the Quran whose performance or omission would make a Muslim sinful. However, knowledge of stops is a noble science for improving Quranic recitation and adorning its delivery. Scholars have categorized stops into: complete (tamm), good (hasan), and ugly (qabih). They considered the following among the ugly stops: stopping at a mudaf (first term of a genitival construct) without its mudaf ilayhi (second term), or at a described noun without its adjective, or at a noun that raises (a verb or another noun) without its raised element, and vice-versa, or at a conjoined word without the word it is conjoined to. Thus, whoever stops at any of these should preferably repeat what preceded it. If they do not, there is no blame upon them.
