What is the Sharʿī ruling regarding a husband who does not speak to his wife but has been spending on her for five months, after her family took her due to mistreatment from his family and their interference in her life, and his threat of divorce?

It is preferable for the wife to obey her husband regarding visiting his family as a kindness to them, but it is not obligatory, especially if she is harmed. It is not obligatory for the husband to disclose his finances and expenditures to his wife; rather, he must spend on her and treat her kindly. It is advisable to discuss with the husband the obligation of honoring one's parents without oppressing the wife. One may resort to righteous intermediaries or two arbiters from the family to resolve the dispute.
