Is the questioner considered the father of the child born eight months and thirteen days after his birth, or is the woman manipulating him?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The child is attributed to the woman's husband as long as she is married, and he is not disavowed from him except through li'an (oath of condemnation). The child is not attributed to the questioner. This is based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The child is for the bed, and for the adulterer is the stone." The questioner is advised to stay away from this woman, to beware of falling into immorality, and to associate with good people. It is permissible for a child to be born after six months of pregnancy, based on the Almighty's saying: "And his gestation and weaning is thirty months."
