Is a child born six months after their parents' marriage to be questioned regarding the legitimacy of their lineage, or is the matter to be left and the child attributed to their father without question? And are the parents to be questioned about their prayers to verify the validity of their marriage contract?

The scholars have determined that the minimum duration of pregnancy is six months. If a woman gives birth at this duration from the time her husband consummated the marriage with her, then the child is attributed to him. Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah was asked about a woman who gave birth six months after her husband consummated the marriage with her, and he answered that the child is attributed to him by the consensus of the imams, citing as evidence Allah's saying: (And his carrying and his weaning is thirty months) and (Mothers shall nurse their children for two whole years). So, if nursing is two years, then pregnancy is six months. This deduction was affirmed by the Companions like Uthman and Ali, may Allah be pleased with them both, and affirmed by Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen. Based on this, the questioner's attribution to his father is correct.
