The answer

Failing to act upon the obligations of the Quran is a great sin, and the Quran bears witness against those who abandon it. The sin of a Hafiz who abandons the Quran is even greater. A Muslim should not stop memorizing the Quran under the pretext of fearing that they will not act upon it; for this is from the whispers of Satan. Memorizing the Quran aids in acting upon it, therefore, one must continue to memorize.
