Must a woman who miscarried a fetus not exceeding two and a half months in age make up the prayers and fasts she missed during that period, due to her ignorance that she was not considered to be in a state of post-natal bleeding (nifas)?

Post-natal bleeding (nifas) only occurs if the human form has become apparent in the fetus, which is not before eighty days of gestation. If a woman miscarries a fetus in which human features have not yet appeared before this period, the blood that issues from her is not nifas blood, but rather istihadha (irregular vaginal bleeding) blood. In this case, she must pray and fast. The woman must make up the days of fasting she missed, assuming she was in nifas, but she is not required to make up the prayers if she abstained from them based on this assumption.
