What is the ruling on one who recites the Qur’an while his mind is preoccupied with other matters, which causes him to move between the pages of the Mushaf without full awareness, and must he re-read the page in this case?

A person is rewarded for reciting the Quran, even if they do so without a present heart. Its ruling is the same as that of other forms of remembrance (dhikr). There is no obligation to repeat what has been recited from the Quran without a present heart, unless one fears opening the door to obsessive thoughts; in that case, they should not repeat what they have recited.
