What is the ruling of Islamic law on a young man working in an internet café where he is required to record customer data and monitor them, knowing that this procedure aims to restrict freedoms and may lead to injustice, and in the event of non-compliance, the shop's license will be revoked?

Obeying the ruler in matters where there is no clear text (nass) is required. However, spying on Muslims and their private affairs is forbidden, based on the Almighty’s saying: (And do not spy), and the Prophet’s (PBUH) saying: "Do not harm Allah's servants, nor disgrace them, nor seek out their private affairs. For whoever seeks out the private affairs of his Muslim brother, Allah will seek out his private affairs and expose him even in his own home." An exception to spying is spying on a well-known tavern or a house of vice, as well as on thieves and highway robbers. In these cases, spying is permitted to track their activities. Therefore, spying on internet users without cause is not permissible, especially if it leads to injustice, and working in this field is not allowed.
