What is the ruling on a mother forsaking her daughter, severing ties with her, being displeased with her, and favoring some children over others, and what should the daughter do to please her mother?

Many children are ignorant of the rights of parents, especially the mother, even though her status is great and showing piety towards her is one of the best deeds after prayer, and disobeying her is one of the greatest sins after associating partners with Allah. The mother has a greater right than the father due to what she endured in pregnancy, childbirth, and upbringing. The daughter must repent from raising her voice at her mother, and she should not be sensitive towards her mother, but rather interpret her actions in the best possible light and supplicate for her. The mother should forgive her daughter if she repents and should not discriminate between her children.
