What is the ruling on sayings widely circulated on social media, such as: "Invoke blessings upon him who wept longingly to see us," and "There is no servant who says: 'Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, praise abundant, good, and blessed,' except that Allah turns away from him seventy types of affliction, the least of which is worry," and is it permissible to describe the saying: "Indeed, Allah will give us of His bounty; to Allah we are supplicants," as the 'supplication of miracles,' and are we sinful if we fail to advise those who disseminate them?

The description of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as "yearning for us" and that "his beloved ones are a people who believe in him but have not seen him" has no evidence to support it. What has been reported in this regard is weak and cannot be used as proof. The narrations by Ibn Asakir and Al-Qushayri to this effect have a frail and damaged chain of transmission. The correct narration is what Muslim reported, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said about his brothers: "Those who have not yet come."

As for the statement that a specific dhikr (remembrance) averts seventy kinds of affliction, it has only been mentioned in the book Nuzhat al-Majalis wa Muntakhab al-Nafa’is by al-Safuri, which is not a reliable book, and it does not mention a chain of transmission for the hadith (definition).

Describing the phrase {حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ سَيُؤْتِينَا اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَرَسُولُهُ إِنَّا إِلَى اللَّهِ رَاغِبُونَ} [Sufficient for us is Allah; Allah will give us from His bounty, and [so will] His Messenger; indeed, to Allah we aspire] as the "supplication of miracles" requires a textual basis (tawqif), and it is not a supplication; rather, it is an account about some hypocrites.

The best approach in supplication is to seek the du'as (supplications) from the Quran and Sunnah (definition). It is also beneficial to utilize modern communication methods in spreading good and inviting to Allah, while advising those who disseminate incorrect information and warning against circulating fabricated and weak hadiths.
