How is inheritance divided among two daughters and four sons of a full brother?

If the deceased left no heirs except those mentioned, then the two daughters receive two-thirds as a prescribed share (fard), and the remainder goes to the sons of the full brother by way of residuary inheritance (ta'sib). Thus, the estate is divided into twelve shares: the two daughters receive eight shares (four for each), and each son of the full brother receives one share. We caution that matters of inheritance are serious and complex, and a mere fatwa is insufficient. Rather, they must be referred to the Sharia courts for investigation, as there might be wills, debts, or rights that take precedence over the rights of the heirs.
