Is it permissible for a woman to remove her head covering to please her husband, who does not pray and believes that the covering detracts from her beauty and embarrasses him, knowing that the husband does not prevent her from praying or fasting, and that their relationship has deteriorated due to this issue, reaching the point of divorce, and they have two children?

It is not permissible for a woman to uncover her hair, even if her husband commands her to do so, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Obedience is only in what is good." And this [uncovering the hair] is an act of disobedience to Allah and His Messenger. If disobedience leads to divorce, then there is no good in someone who dislikes the commands of Allah and His Messenger. Rather, he should be reminded of Allah and invited [to righteousness] with wisdom and good counsel. If the husband persists in abandoning prayer, it is advisable to seek a divorce from him, because whoever neglects prayer is more neglectful of other things. Some scholars rule that one who abandons prayer is a disbeliever, and it is not permissible for a Muslim woman to remain married to a disbeliever.
