Does the father's obligation to provide for his daughters cease if they do not visit him? Do the daughters have the right not to visit him? Is not visiting him considered an act of disobedience (ʿuqūq)? Is it permissible to take money from the father without his knowledge to spend on the daughters? Is it permissible to visit the father while he curses their mother and her sisters?

It is not permissible to accuse a father of molesting his daughter without proof. If it is proven, he should be treated as a stranger, with the obligation to maintain ties with him in a good manner, without privacy or displaying adornment. Abandoning ties with the father is an act of disobedience (uquq), and his misbehavior does not justify uquq. The financial support of poor daughters is obligatory upon the father and does not cease if they do not visit him. It is permissible to take support from his money without his knowledge if he refuses to provide it. The obligatory support is what suffices for their needs. The mother may spend and then claim the amount as a debt from the father, to be taken from his estate before its division. It is not permissible to take it from the daughters' share. Judicial rulings related to financial support should be referred to the Sharia court.
