A suspended oath to prohibit the wife, contingent on her not telling the husband the whole truth, if it is an absolute and indefinite prohibition, is not broken until death, unless the husband intended a specific timeframe or there is an indication of his intention to expedite the disclosure. Accordingly, the wife can withhold the full truth from him for the duration of her life, and the husband will not have broken his oath, unless he intended a specific period for the disclosure or there was an indication to that effect. If he breaks the oath, and he did not intend divorce by the prohibition, then he must pay expiation for an oath. Both spouses should exercise wisdom in resolving their problems.
