What is the ruling on wearing a women's shemagh that is placed only on the neck and comes in different colors?

If the shemagh is not worn in the manner of men's clothing, and there is no imitation of men in it, and it is in a women's gathering, and it does not lead to the display of adornment to non-mahram men, then the basic ruling is that it is permissible to wear it. It is advisable to stay away from fashions that resemble men's clothing, and to observe customs and traditions in clothing as long as they do not contradict the Sharia.
