Is it permissible for a divorced woman with children, who fears falling into sin, to marry a younger man informally, without her family's knowledge and without officially documenting the marriage, in order to avoid losing custody of her children according to the law, knowing that there are two witnesses?

Marriage is good and a fortress for a woman, and the Shari'ah has encouraged it, and it is obligatory for whoever fears temptation. The parents' objection to marriage is unacceptable, and their obedience is not required in this matter. The guardianship of the wali (guardian) is a condition for a previously married woman just as it is for a virgin. If the wali refuses without a valid Shar'i reason, she may refer the matter to the court to arrange her marriage. The custody of children should not be an impediment to marriage, and Allah protects them. Attention must also be paid to the seriousness of unlawful mixing in the workplace.
