Is mink oil, extracted from the mink animal, forbidden or not?

We have no knowledge of this animal, nor whether it has a fang with which it preys or not. Predatory animals with fangs, such as lions and wolves, are impermissible to eat according to the majority of jurists. As for oil extracted from an animal, if the animal is permissible to eat and was slaughtered according to Sharia, then using its oil is permissible. However, if the animal is impermissible to eat, or if it was permissible but not slaughtered according to Sharia (carrion), then its oil may not be used. The majority of jurists have held that it is impermissible to benefit from the fat of carrion for purposes other than eating, based on the hadith of Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him). As for using oil for medicinal purposes when no other alternative is available, there is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding this.
