What is the ruling regarding a Christian wife, married to a Christian, who secretly embraces Islam, but remains in her relationship with her husband and children, knowing her family and husband would object to it, and keen not to break up her family?

A woman must first embrace Islam, then invite her husband to Islam. If he refuses, she should inform him that she will separate from him, because Islam does not permit a Muslim woman to remain married to a non-Muslim. The marriage is dissolved upon the expiry of the waiting period (iddah) if the husband does not embrace Islam. Her relationship with her Lord must be based on adherence to Islamic legal rulings, and her relationship with her children and family remains as it is. Young children are deemed Muslim, following her religion. She must honor her parents, even if they are disbelievers.
