How can one deal with criticisms from family and relatives regarding increased religious observance, such as wearing the niqab and refraining from swearing by other than Allah, and respond to accusations of extremism?

A Muslim must obey God and submit to His commands, for God's religion is ease and happiness. True happiness is achieved by drawing closer to God and obeying Him. Explain to people that your commitment to religion is a search for true happiness and the comfort of this world and the hereafter, and that whoever turns away from the remembrance of God will have a constricted life. Continue on your upright path and do not pay attention to those who discourage you. Advise those who violate the Sharia with gentleness, and pray to God to keep your heart steadfast in His religion.
