What do you advise me to do in dealing with my husband, whom I discovered practices sodomy, knowing that I have not confronted him for fear of divorce? And does my supplication for him, saying: "Oh Allah, I entrust my husband to Your care, for Your trusts are never lost," protect him from the unlawful?

Sodomy is a grave sin, a major transgression through which Allah destroyed a nation. The Sharia has prescribed for it a severe punishment and painful torment. It is reckless to accuse the husband of it without clear proof. If the husband's commission of this act is proven, then what the wife should do in such a case has been clarified. As for supplicating for him to be protected from this sin, it is like all other supplications, and we hope that Allah will respond to it. However, it cannot be definitively asserted that it alone suffices to prevent him from falling into the forbidden.
