How should a new Muslim facing a prison sentence be advised, when he sees his imprisonment as an opportunity to learn his religion and spread Islam, and insists on not praying for release from prison but rather asking Allah for what is best for him? And what can be offered to help him endure and remain steadfast during that period?

A Muslim should be advised to beware of falling into difficulty, to be a role model in goodness, and to care for beneficial knowledge, righteous deeds, and good company, so that he may remain steadfast in religion. Imprisonment is a trial, and a Muslim must ask Allah for well-being from it and from everything that leads to it, while taking precautions and supplicating. This is among repelling destiny with destiny. He should also fear Allah, observe the obligatory duties, purify himself, and be a role model for others.
