What is the ruling on circulating a message containing pictures and personal information of a man who blackmails girls, considering it a "scandal before it is advice," and does it contradict the noble Prophetic saying: "Whoever covers [the fault of] a Muslim, Allah will cover his [fault] in this world and the Hereafter"?

Publishing a message containing a scandal about a Muslim is unlawful (haram), as it constitutes seeking out the faults of Muslims and spreading indecency. The perpetrator of such an act is sinful, even if the accused is truly guilty. How much more so if the message is a fabrication and a slander. Allah Almighty says: "And those who harm believing men and believing women for [something] other than what they have earned have certainly borne slander and manifest sin." (Quran 33:58) And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever says about a believer something that is not in him, Allah will house him in Radghat al-Khabal until he retracts what he said, and he will not be able to retract it."
