Since the wife knew about her illness and the doctors forbade her from marrying, she should have informed the suitor. However, this is not a defect that would necessitate the option of annulment. She does not have the right to prevent her husband from marrying another, and he is not required to seek her permission unless she stipulated that at the time of the marriage contract. What she is entitled to upon divorce is what every divorced woman is entitled to: a consolation payment (mut'ah), deferred dowry, housing, and maintenance and clothing for the duration of the 'iddah (waiting period) if the divorce is revocable.
