A wife complaining about her husband to her family to seek advice and reconciliation is neither a public declaration of sin nor is it impermissible. However, it is better not to complain if it is possible to overlook the issue and achieve reconciliation. It has been reported that the daughters of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, complained about their husbands to him, such as the complaint of Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her, concerning Ali's, may Allah be pleased with him, intention to marry the daughter of Abu Jahl, and also her complaint about the hardship of household chores.
