Is the wife sinful if she refrains from speaking to her husband—who insults and mistreats her and neglects to provide for her and their daughters despite his wealth and financial ease—until he commits to fulfilling her marital rights completely and observes religious and ethical considerations?

If the husband has insulted Allah, His religion, or His messengers, or mocked the rituals of Islam, then he has committed disbelief (kufr) and the marriage contract between you is dissolved. However, if his disbelief is not established, then she should remind him of Allah and demand that he be upright and fulfill his obligatory financial support. All the husband's actions mentioned are major sins, such as intentionally abandoning prayer, insulting his wife, and humiliating her, which become even more sinful due to violating the wife's right to kind treatment. Islamic jurists permit a wife to seek divorce when she is harmed by her husband. As for a wife abandoning her husband merely for a sin or deficiency in financial support, this is not permissible; rather, the matter should be referred to a judge to remove the harm or to request a divorce due to harm.
