What is the amount of Zakat due on an agricultural crop whose value reached one hundred thousand Riyals, and what is the share of the endowments from this amount, knowing that the land was barren and was rented and cultivated?

The basic principle for Zakat on agricultural produce is that it should be given from the produce itself, not from its monetary value, unless giving the value is more beneficial for the poor. If the produce is sold, then what is obligatory is to give the value of one-tenth or one-half of the produce, depending on the irrigation method. As for the share of endowments (waqfs), it has no relation to the Zakat on the produce. The land rent must be paid to the endowment authority according to the agreed-upon conditions.
