Is a girl who forces her mother to pluck her eyebrows cursed, even though her mother is displeased with the act and unable to prevent it, and what should she do?

The majority of jurists hold that plucking (al-namṣ) is forbidden for the unmarried woman. The fatwa adopted by us is that it is impermissible for both the married and the unmarried woman. You are not obliged to obey your mother in plucking, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no obedience in disobedience to Allah; obedience is only in what is good and right." Explain the ruling on plucking to her. If disobeying her results in severe harm to you, then there is no sin upon you, and the sin is upon her. Your mother's right upon you is not abrogated by her wrongdoing; therefore, you must accompany her with kindness.
