What is the ruling on a girl plucking her eyebrows slightly from the top and bottom since childhood, and is it permissible for the husband to force her or beat her to stop doing so if she does not gradually abandon it?

Plucking the eyebrows (namṣ) is not permissible according to Sharia, and the wife must obey her husband in refraining from it. Jurists have differed regarding the permissibility of a husband striking his wife for neglecting the rights of Allah Almighty, such as prayer:

- The Shafi'is and some Hanafis and Hanbalis hold that it is not permissible for a husband to strike his wife for her negligence concerning the rights of Allah. - Whereas the Hanbalis, Malikis, and a group of Hanafis hold that it is permissible for a husband to strike his wife for neglecting the rights of Allah.

Permissible striking must not be violent, nor should it be resorted to unless there is an expectation of its benefit. The wife must fear Allah and prioritize the awe of Allah over shame before people. It is forbidden for her to display her adornment to anyone other than her husband and unmarriageable kin (mahram). It is recommended to handle the matter with wisdom and gentleness.
