Is it permissible for a Muslim to bathe in a bathroom with a toilet nearby?

If the question is about the ruling on bathing next to the toilet, there is no harm in that. What is forbidden is urinating in the same place of bathing. If the question is about bathing near a person who is using the toilet, then it is obligatory to cover one's awrah, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Guard your awrah except from your wife or what your right hand possesses," and his saying: "A man should not look at the awrah of another man, nor should a woman look at the awrah of another woman."
