Is it permissible to spend a lot of time in the bathroom, knowing that it is a dwelling place for jinn and that smoking and drinking occur there?

A husband's prolonged stay in the bathroom is inappropriate, as it goes against the purpose of the bathroom and involves religious prohibitions:

1. Impurities: Bathrooms are often not free from impurities, and sitting in them exposes a Muslim to touching them, and a Muslim is commanded to avoid them. 2. Presence of Devils: Places for relieving oneself are frequented by devils. Therefore, one is commanded to seek refuge [with Allah] upon entering them, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, these latrines are frequented [by devils]. So, when any of you enters the privy, let him say: 'I seek refuge with Allah from the male and female evil spirits (al-khubuth wa al-khaba'ith).'" 3. Exposure of Awrah: Remaining in the bathroom for a long time without need leads to the exposure of one's awrah without justification, and this is impermissible, even if one is alone, for Allah is more deserving of modesty. 4. Dislike of Prolonged Stay: Scholars disliked prolonging one's stay in the privy without need, because it is frequented by devils and a place where one's awrah is exposed.

A Muslim must keep himself pure from places of filth and impurities.
