Is the husband entitled to stipulate taking a portion of his wife's salary in exchange for allowing her to work, given that he is financially capable and that the wife works to help her needy parents, and is it permissible for the wife to continue her work without his consent if the reason for his disapproval is her not giving him a share of the salary?

It is permissible for the husband to stipulate to his wife that she give him a portion of her salary in exchange for his permission for her to work. However, it is not permissible to link permission for her to work outside the home to a condition of sharing in the expenses obligatory upon the husband, or giving him a portion of her salary, as stated in the resolutions of the Fiqh Academy. A wife's going out to work without her husband's permission is not permissible except out of necessity, and her desire to assist her parents is not considered a necessity. The spouses are advised to reach an understanding and agreement regarding the wife giving a portion of her salary to her husband, while she may give whatever she wishes to her parents. The husband is advised not to prevent his wife from working without justification, and not to stipulate that she pay a certain amount from her salary, and to help her in honoring her parents.
