What is the reward for a deceased mother who was illiterate, unable to read or write, but memorized Al-Fatiha and At-Tawhid, and whose preoccupation with raising her children and husband, as well as her illness, prevented her from performing many acts of worship, knowing that her children are educated and employed?

If a woman fulfills the obligatory duties to her Lord, fasts, guards her chastity, and obeys her husband, she will enter Paradise from any gate she wishes. Her performance of these acts is considered like jihad in the way of Allah. What she is required to memorize from the Quran are Surat Al-Fatihah and a surah. Her children must supplicate for her and give charity on her behalf, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge from which others benefit, or a righteous child who supplicates for him."
