Given that the two corruptions mentioned in Surat Al-Isra have already occurred and concluded, how can one explain the current corruption being perpetrated by the Jews on Earth in light of Allah's saying: "And if you return [to wrongdoing], We will return [to punishing you]," and can their current actions not be considered corruption since the two [foretold] corruptions have already taken place?

Allah the Almighty clarified in Surat Al-Isra that the Children of Israel would cause corruption on earth twice and be punished, and that indeed happened. Then, glory be to Him, He mentioned that if they returned to causing corruption a third time, He would return to taking revenge on them. The verses and historical events indicate that they returned to causing corruption repeatedly thereafter, so Allah unleashed their enemies upon them, such as the Muslims during the era of prophethood and others. This indicates that their corruption was not limited to the two instances mentioned; rather, it is a fixed divine law: whenever they return to corruption and transgression, Allah returns to taking revenge on them until the Day of Judgment, in fulfillment of His saying: "And if you return, We will return." This is confirmed by Sheikh Al-Qaradawi, who states that the Jews have not abandoned corruption, and therefore Allah unleashes upon them those who discipline them.
