What is the interpretation of the verses from Allah's saying: "And We conveyed to the Children of Israel in the Scripture that you will surely cause mischief on the earth twice and you will surely become exceedingly haughty" up to the seventh verse?

In the interpretation of the verse: (And We decreed for the Children of Israel in the Scripture that you would surely cause corruption on the earth twice and you would surely reach a great [level of] haughtiness), it means that Allah informed them in their Scripture that they would cause corruption twice through disobedience and arrogance, and that He would send enemies against them as a punishment. So, when the first corruption occurred, Allah sent against them mighty servants (those of great military might), who shed their blood and plundered their wealth. This was a promise that was bound to happen. Then, Allah restored their dominance over their enemies and aided them with wealth and sons, making them a greater force due to their good deeds. (If you do good, you do good for yourselves), meaning the benefit returns to them even in this world. (And if you do evil, it is for yourselves), meaning the harm returns to them. So, when the promise of the Last [Corruption] came (the other time they would cause corruption), Allah sent enemies against them (to sadden your faces) by their victory and capture, and (to enter the Mosque)—which is the Mosque of Jerusalem—and (to destroy utterly), meaning to ruin and demolish everything they seized control of.
