What is the connection of the noble verses (Al-Isra: 4-6) to what is happening today, and who are "those of great military might" (أولو البأس الشديد)?

Allah stated in His Book that the Children of Israel would cause corruption on Earth twice and achieve great dominance. This indeed happened. The first time, Allah sent Nebuchadnezzar against them, who humbled them. Then, Allah restored them and empowered them, but they repeated their corruption. So, Allah sent against them those who did to them the same. Then, Allah threatened them that if they returned to corruption, Allah would return to humbling them, for "Dishonor has been struck upon them wherever they are found, except for a rope from Allah and a rope from the people. And they have incurred wrath from Allah, and destitution has been struck upon them." Also, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave glad tidings that Muslims would fight the Jews and defeat them. However, this victory will only occur if Muslims take the means to achieve it: "Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves," and "Allah will surely support those who support Him," and "Indeed, Our soldiers will be the victors," and "And you will be superior, if you are believers."
