However, scholars have made exceptions for lying for a benefit, such as a husband lying to his wife and vice versa, especially if it strengthens the marital relationship and contributes to its continuation with affection and purity, provided that it does not lead to the forfeiture of a right. A wife leaving her home without a legitimate reason is an act of disobedience, and the husband's lie does not justify it.
