How can one overcome the internal struggle between committing a sin and the desire to abandon it, while feeling guilty about supplicating to Allah and sending religious messages to friends during the act of sinning?
Every son of Adam errs, and the pious one is he who repents to his Lord. Allah is Kind; He accepts repentance. So strive against your lower self to abandon sin, and do not despair of Allah's mercy, for the door of repentance is open. If your lower self overcomes you, hasten to sincere repentance, and increase in good deeds, and persist in supplication and acts of worship, for good deeds wipe out bad deeds. Do not abandon good deeds under the pretext of sin, but rather increase in them. Strive in acts of closeness to Allah, and increase in supplication and seeking forgiveness, and keep company with righteous people, and occupy your time with what benefits, and supplicate to Allah to rectify your heart and make you steadfast.
