How can someone who has been excessive in sins, wronged his son, and is suffering from alienation from Allah, tightness in his chest, and fear of the Quran and people, return to repentance and feel tranquility and closeness to Allah after feeling His wrath and delaying seeking refuge in Him? And do the effects of his sins mean his end?

No matter how great the sin, Allah accepts sincere repentance which involves abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it, and restoring the rights of those wronged. The heart, after repentance, becomes closer to Allah, more loving of Him, and more yearning for Him. One must be wary of the whispers of Satan and despair, combine fear with hope, and have a good opinion of Allah. It is recommended to frequently remember Allah (dhikr), recite and ponder the Qur'an, associate with righteous women, and be persistent in supplication.
