Does the feeling of being restricted or a weight on the chest daily before waking up, despite reading the Qur'an and maintaining prayer, indicate distance from Allah and sin, or closeness to Him, or something else?
It is recommended to maintain congregational prayers, attend gatherings of knowledge and remembrance, and consistently recite morning, evening, and sleep dhikr, along with lawful incantations (ta'awidh shar'iyyah); for these are among the causes of protection from jinn. One can seek assistance from authentic dhikr books such as al-Kalim al- and Hisn al-Muslim. These means, however, do not prevent Allah's decree of an disliked affliction, whether as a test to elevate ranks or expiate sins, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The people most afflicted are the Prophets, then the righteous, then the next best. A person is tested according to his religiosity."
