What is the ruling on one who works and receives money from an illegal source, in relation to his status as unemployed (chômage)?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is permissible for a private employee to work for someone other than their employer if the employer grants permission, and if the additional work is outside of the original working hours and does not affect their primary duties. Otherwise, it is not permissible. The employee is obligated to fulfill the conditions agreed upon with the employer, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Muslims are bound by their conditions."
