Should a son clarify the truth to his parents regarding controversial religious issues, or should he remain silent and go along with them, especially if the discussion is in front of others, while observing good manners and gentleness?

Clarifying the truth is obligatory, and it should be done in a good manner, especially with parents. There is no objection to discussing with them respectfully and politely. If the discussion leads to an argument or there is a fear of harm resulting from it, then it is better to abandon it. It is permissible to clarify the truth to others outside of the gathering. It is not permissible for a son to participate in jihad without the permission of his parents unless it becomes an individual obligation (fard ‘ayn). Legitimate jihad has its own rulings, conditions, and regulations.
