How can one purify his money and food for his prayers to be answered, and does Allah forgive the consumption of unlawfully acquired wealth? What about returning money taken from parents or from other people one does not remember, and does charity purify money? Should the money be returned to the teacher whose answer was given to another man, and does showing off (riya') invalidate good deeds? Is there a minimum limit for charitable donations?

The door to repentance is open, and its conditions are sincerity, remorse, abandoning the sin, and resolving not to return to it. Rights must be restored to their owners if possible. Money that was taken should be returned to its known owner, and if the owner is not known, it should be given as charity on their behalf. Lawful earnings ensure purity of sustenance. Sincere repentance removes impediments to the acceptance of supplications, and charity blesses wealth and expiates sins. Sincerity in deeds is obligatory, and one must combat ostentation and the whispers of Satan.
