Is expiation obligatory upon a mother who left her four-year-old daughter in the care of her maternal uncle, who then forgot her in the car, leading to her death, as the mother believed the child was sleeping at his place?

The mother bears no expiation, blood money, or sin, as she was not negligent. Rather, the expiation and blood money are incumbent upon the maternal uncle who caused the death by locking the car and forgetting the child inside. However, he bears no sin for his forgetfulness and lack of intent, as Allah, the Most High, says: "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we forget or make a mistake," and as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned my Ummah for their mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are coerced into."
