However, if the guardianship of her maternal uncle was her responsibility by religious law, and she neglected his protection, then she incurs sin and must repent and seek forgiveness. The ruling for an imbecile in guardianship is the same as for a child.
Blood money (Diyah) and expiation are incumbent upon whoever caused harm to the maternal uncle in the accident.
