The answer

Medical treatment is permissible, but only with what Allah and His Messenger have made lawful, for therein lies the cure. It is forbidden to seek treatment with unlawful things in general, and with alcohol in particular, because the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah has not made your cure in what He has forbidden to you," and "Seek treatment and do not seek treatment with unlawful things," and "Indeed, it is not a medicine, but rather a disease." Imagining a cure for illness through alcohol is a delusion, for Allah is Wise and All-Knowing, and medicine is merely a means, while the cure comes from Allah. Relying on Him alone is what is required.
