Is the Islam of a son afflicted with schizophrenia affected by his sometimes not attending Friday prayers due to the influence of medication?

There is no blame upon a schizophrenic patient for missing the Friday prayer due to his illness and his taking medication that incapacitates him from attending it. This is according to the general consensus of scholars. However, if it is possible to adjust the timing of the medication so that he can attend the Friday prayer, then it becomes obligatory upon him to do so. If he misses the Friday prayer, he is obligated to pray Dhuhr as a make-up prayer whenever he wakes up or is able to pray; this is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever sleeps through a prayer or forgets it, let him pray it when he remembers it."
