Does divorce occur twice if the pronouncement is repeated with the intention of emphasis in a single session?

Anger does not prevent the occurrence of divorce as long as the person is aware of what he is saying. Scholars have differed on accepting the intention of emphasis when there is a long interval between the explicit pronouncements of divorce:

Shafi'is: If there is an interval between the explicit pronouncements of divorce for a woman with whom intercourse has occurred, three divorces take place. The husband is believed if he says: "I intended emphasis." Malikis: The intention of emphasis is accepted for a woman with whom intercourse has occurred, and the husband is believed by his oath, even if the interval is long. Hanbalis: If the husband says to a woman with whom intercourse has occurred: "You are divorced," and then repeats it after a long time, a second divorce takes place, and his statement: "I intended emphasis," is not accepted.

Based on this, if you intended emphasis and did not intend to initiate another divorce, only one divorce takes place. You may reconcile with your wife if you have not completed three divorces and before her waiting period (iddah) expires.
