What is the ruling on expiation for one who swore in a state of anger that she would not give her husband money, saying at one time, "May it be upon myself," and at another time, "May it be upon my daughter"?

A woman's cursing herself and her daughter is not permissible Islamically, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it. Therefore, she must repent and avoid cursing herself and her child, and avoid excessive swearing. Her saying, "May God make her [a torment] upon me," is not considered an oath. If she consciously swore by God not to give her husband and her oath was binding, then she must offer expiation if she breaks it. Breaking the oath is better here to help the husband. Expiation for an oath is obligatory for one who swore an oath and then saw something better than adhering to it.
